Face Bead
I love making these little two-faced dudes! I start with a clear glass hollow bead, about 3/4" to 7/8" in diameter and about 5/8" hole to hole. (There will be a little variation in size). Then I add white enamel for the face and go to town with tiny stringer, drawing the features. I like to make them funny, serious, thoughtful, drunk, happy, worried, or whatever comes to mind. I then decorate the rest of the surface with little, low bumps of black stringer. When they come out of the annealer, I frost the surface of the bead. I sometimes like to pop in a bit of red on the face: glasses frames, clown nose, hair bow, or red lips. There is a way to specify that in the drop downs. You can see a whole necklace made of these beads down below. Or they could be hung all by themselves on a cord and be a real conversation piece! ***PLEASE NOTE: All the Face Beads in the photos are no longer available. They serve only as examples of what the Face Beads look like.
